Grantham

The Grantham Surgery at the Old Barracks opened on 1st December 2011 having moved from Londonthorpe which had been our home for the previous 16 years.

This historical and iconic building in Grantham has been transformed internally into a modern well appointed Veterinary Practice following substantial investment. We have parking for 16 cars reserved in the Barracks courtyard for KirksVets clients only and then we have two entrances to the Surgery. A main entrance and a seperate entrance to a private waiting area for daily patient admissions / discharges and for access to the bereavement suite, this allows clients their own space and access to a dedicated consulting room. On entering through the main entrance we have our reception desk and retail area stocking collars, leads, toys, beds, foods, treats and many other items for your pet. This leads through to our comfortable air conditioned waiting room with separate areas for dogs and cats.

Our three consulting rooms are all easily accessible from the waiting room as is the grooming room where we can give your dog a wash and make over. We have an extensive in house laboratory to enable results to be generated within minutes and for any samples which we need to send away we have a nightly courier collection service to ensure the samples are processed first thing the following morning. Our dog kennels have both walk in and smaller stainless steel cages so we can accommodate dogs of all sizes, we also have an extra large kennel for the giant breeds and all this with natural light as we have large roof windows in this area. Our separate cat ward has stainless steel cages and our small furries ward has fibreglass cages for rabbits, guinea pigs, rats and any other animal which would prefer not to be kept alongside dogs or cats!

We have a digital x-ray suite just off from our prep room which also serves the two operating theatres. We also have an outside access to a secure grassed area which we use to exercise the in patients. Our isolation ward has double door entry with additional access to an outside door so contagious animals do not need to enter the main surgery. For our staff we have a staff room and large office space in the centre of the building.

The new Surgery has:

  • Three consulting rooms
  • A large waiting room
  • Separate dog, cat, small furries and isolation wards
  • Two operating theatres with large prep room
  • Digital X-Ray room
  • Grooming Room
  • Euthanasia Suite (with separate waiting area)
  • 16 Parking Spaces within the Barracks courtyard
  • Secure grassed area to exercise dogs

Sleaford

The Sleaford Surgery on Lions Way opened in May 2002 having previously been at Highfield on East Road for around 80 years. The £500,000 Surgery has been a huge success since its grand opening where the Town Mayor made a very nice personal address about the Surgery to the open day attendees.

The Surgery has a large open waiting room and retail area with an informative plasma screen. Three consulting rooms are available for appointments with the Vets and Nurses who have access to the dispensary and the in house laboratory where we can get vital results within minutes, for anything which we can't do ourselves we have a nightly courier service to ensure our samples take priority with the lab first thing in the morning. Beyond this we have a spacious Prep Room which leads off to the two operating theatres and digital x-ray suite.

We have separate dog and cat wards so the patients are kept as calm as possible, we also use Pet Remedy diffusers in the kennels. We have a mix of walk in kennels for the larger dogs and for our smaller patients stainless steel cages of the highest standard.

We have an enclosed yard with a grassed area for exercising the day patients. We also have a grooming room within the main building and outside we have an isolation ward for animals with infectious conditions, so they are kept away from other patients. We also have a fully licensed Pet Crematorium so we can personally continue to care for your animals until the very end. Upstairs we have a staff room, kitchen, showers, meeting rooms and offices, the building is air conditioned and has a large car park with disabled spacing.
